Introducing the KNAT a DB Designs
Mini Recreational & Development Kayak

Built in the USA

Dam Good Gear has a totally unique kayak. The KNAT is a mini-kayak that is fast, stable, easly stored, comforable, compact and ulta light weight. It is a genuine small kayak for adults and children, designed by Danny Broadhurst of DB Designs using precision, lofted waterlines by David Green of Kirton Kayaks. A genuine kayak, the KNAT is designed to be paddled in a range of conditions. The small overall size allows it to get comfortably into small tight creeks yet it is quite at home in more open waters of harbors and bays. As a touring kayak it is disarming how easily the miles fall away and the ease of paddling for such a short boat.

As a general purpose training boat the KNAT'S capabilities are suprising:
  • Used in swimming pool clinics the KNAT is perfect for students. Because it has little rocker it tracks extremely well and yet has good manuverability even in limited space.

  • For experts the sensitivity of the KNAT will aid in the development of a smooth, efficient stroke. Because it is so responsive any unnecessary motion of the paddler is magnified which is masked in higher volume boats. Stroke errors become obvious and therefore correctable.

  • For sprint and marathon racers (especially clubs) the KNAT is particularly good as a training aid for coaches. The coach can more easily keep pace with the athlete rather than standing on the shore. This allows direct observation of stroke details and immediate critique and response.
