The face of this rugged blade has a fine rib and the back has a rigid spine. |
Nylon 12 Ribbed Thin (N12R, Thin) |
Black, white and occaisonally others |
Same ribbed blade face a rigid spine as the
Poly Pro. Material is fiberglass reinforced Nylon 12. Its tougher, lighter, and thinner
in cross-section. More expensive and a little more flexible than the Poly Pro. |
Carbon Nylon 12 Ribbed Thin (CN12T) |
Black |
This is a state-of-the-art material for
modern paddle blades. Carbon-fiber reinforced Nylon 12 gives a super-light,
ultra-stiff, ultra-rugged blade which, when matched with your choice of shaft
will give the finest service and pride of ownership and performance. |
Carbon Nylon 12 Dihedral (CN12DIA) |
Black |
Carbon-fiber reinforced Nylon 12 blade.
No rib on the face and a "softer" spine on the back. Thicker in cross-section and
although a little heavier when first picked up, the balance of the blade in-use is
superb, and the ruggedness second to none. Given serious and extreme use,
this blade will not let you down. White-water and general purpose use. |
| Carbon Composite |
Black |
Carbon-fiber woven blade.
No rib on the face and a spine on the back. Extremely thin in cross-section and
very light weight. Blade material equivalent to our wing blades, but for touring
use. |
| Wings |
Black |
Carbon-fiber epoxy wings in three sizes.
The most popular we have for simplicity is designated "medium". We also have small
and large on occaision. Please call for availability. |

DB Design Carbon Composite Touring Blades
|
|
Carbon composite is lightweight, strong and has a superb look.
It makes a beautiful touring paddle. Blades are available in four shapes shown below to suit all types of
paddlers, their requirements and various touring conditions.
|
|
|
 |
Petal:
The Carbon weave Petal is the smallest area touring
blade we offer. The smaller, less brawny paddler will appreciate the petal as being smooth
and efficient without straining. It is all a perfect choice for all abilities on long/extended
trips.
Applications: Touring, Cruising, Sea kayaking, Sit-on-top.
L=20", W=5-7/8"
|
 |
Roamer:
The Roamer is one of ourmost popular choices for those
who prefer longer tours paddling for an hour or more. Slightly smaller in area and less stressful
on the shoulder than the RTF.
Applications: Touring, Cruising, Sea kayaking.
L=20", W=6-3/8"
|
| |
 |
GCT:
The Carbon weave GCT is similar to the Roamer except
for a slightly more rounded edge for a slightly smoother entry. This also an excellent blade
for longer tours.
Applications: Touring, Cruising, Sea kayaking.
L=20", W=6-3/8"
|
 |
RTF:
The carbon-weave RTF is our largest area blade
for those big strong folk. This blade delivers a good workout.
Applications: Race, Training, Fitness, Crusing, Sea kayaking,
Sit-on-top. L=20", W=7-1/2"

DB Design Carbon Composite Wing Paddles
|
|
We now have three sizes of carbon fiber wing paddles. For
simplicity we call them: small, medium and large. These high quality, efficient function beautifully
in action. They are of proven shape and are used by novices, throught intermediates up to international
class paddlers. Most of our wing paddles are sold on NKCT shafts in combination with the YAK-LOK joint
system which gives variable feather and seven centimeters of length adjustment. The majority of users
choose the "medium" with larger, stronger paddlers opting for "large". Ladies, juniors and smaller people
appreciate the "small" size blade. We can fabricate lengths from 204-211 up to 218-225 centimeters.
Without doubt the majority of paddlers choose the 213-220 length. All our Wings have 'indexes' on the
control hand side of the shaft and 'heat-shrink' grips on both left and right hand side.
|
|
|

Long distance cruising & Racing. L=17-3/4", W=5-7/8"
|

YAK-LOK Components
All components are anodized aluminum. The main body is permanently glued to
one side of the split shaft at the center. It has a series of dirt-releasing threads which recieve
the nut. The main body also has two stainless steel pins on which the collett locates. The collet
fits onto the main body locating on the two pins and surrounded by the nut. The spigot is permanently
glued onto the opposite side of the split shaft. The spigot slides into the collett and can be rotated
and positioned in the collett to set extension distance and feather. The nut is then tightened down
compressing the collett into the main body and onto the spigot to secure the settings.
When setting up your new paddle:
Put the collett into the main body aligning the slot onto the stainless steel pins.
Screw the nut onto the main body - do not tighten.
Slide the shaft with the spigot into the collet shaft.
Adjust for length and feather.
Tighten the nut. Do not overtighten - the system is very efficient!!
When taking the paddle apart, loosen nut 1-2 times - no more!
Leave the nut on the main body when disassembled.
When finished using, rinse with fresh water.
